Our family —

It has taken years to evolve into the “crunchy” mom I am today, but it all started on Redwood Circle, in our first home.

It was on Redwood Circle that I gave birth to our first two children. It was on Redwood Circle that I learned to stand up for my children as their mother, staunchly against the modern grain of what makes a child healthy. And it was on Redwood Circle that I started MAKING things.. clothes mostly, but man, my creative bug was running wild. I always mused, even when we first bought the house, that if I were to start a business, I would call it Ruby & Redwood. It seemed ordained that we were to live there, as our parents’ business is “Rose ‘n Oak.” And as with redwood trees and oak trees, their massive trunks reflect the strength of the roots below. We were ready to lay some roots down.

When our son was 6 months old, he started developing terrible eczema on his belly and legs. I tried everything I could find, from petroleum-based (I know… I was a new mom) to organic lotions and salves — nothing worked long term. When my friend introduced us to tallow, I realized how simple the solution to his eczema was.. he cleared up in a matter of weeks. When that same friend told me she started experimenting in making her own tallow balm, I figured why not try as well. When we moved to Tennessee, I started making some to sell at my chiropractor’s office, and here we are now.

Ruby & Redwood is a simple brand, born of love for my family and their well-being. I hope to inspire and help moms get back to their roots — their Redwood Circle, protect their family’s endocrine system, and truly embrace natural skincare.

God’s design for the body is so intricate and yet so pure. Solving skin ailments should not be complicated. I hope my products honor and heal your body.

With Love,

Cori Ruby, wife and mother of 3
